SHOULD WOMEN DANCE OR LISTEN TO SEXIST MUSIC?

One of the biggest things that differentiates the music our parents listen to from the music that we listen today, is the way artists refer women. It has become normal and cool to sing or rap about women in a degrading and depreciate manner. Some women have decided to stop listening to this kind of music but, in my opinion, the should not stop listening to the music they want to hear.

First of all, many of the women who listen to and dance sexist music recognize that they do not agree with the lyrics of this type of music. They keep listening to it because they enjoy listening to this kind of music. Some others admit that they do not even stop to think about the meaning of the lyrics. This is why I think it is important that women can listen to the music they like.

In addition, there is nothing wrong about mentioning sexist music, as music is a free form of expression and artists have every right to produce art in whatever manner they please. However, it is our obligation to be aware of the music that we listen to and its effect on our morals. 

To sum up, althought is not well seen that women listen or dance sexist music, everybody has the right to listen to the king of music they wish and decide if they want to hear sexist, romantic or urban music.
